The facilitator training in Biodanza contains an extensive overview about the fundamentals of life in connections with the human being and the cosmos. The high level of the training is complemented by a brillant junction of theory and practise, which connects the newest knowledge in the science with a coherent practice andself-awareneness. The training is extra-occupational and lasts three years.

The Biodanza-School in Cologne offers a special shorter facilitator training for teachers and pedagogues. This facilitator training lasts two years. Please, contact me, if you like to have more information.

Target Group

Basically any person who likes to do it can make the facilitator training.

One requirement is the experience of Biodanza before starting the training.
What concern the level of experience the training is a a step to deepen. The facilitaor training offers the possiblitiy to proceed in a continuous more and more intensive process of feeling oneself acting, allone or together with others, to experience the own spontaneity of hte movement, to feel yourself, physically, emotionally, active, creative and soft.

Acording to Rolando Toro a vivencia is the ideal way to oneself, to the recognition of the own identity.

Another requirement is a certain personal maturity and education (higher education entrance qualification). During the training it is important to work on theoretical contents in a peer group. The training is not caracterized by forms, but it supports self-iniciative and the priorities of personal interests.

Persons who already have worked with groups or have a pedagogic-therapeutic study, it is usually easier to assume the position of direction and to regard what ahppens in the group. In social, medical, therapeutical or rehabilitative areas it can be interesting to have an additional qualification as a Biodanza teacher.

Trainers

In 2002 Gabriele Freyhoff, docent of Biodanza, founded the Biodnaza Schoool of Cologne and  presided it over till today.

The school has five lecturers from diferent countries, que regularly are invited:

  • Nadia Robin from Switzerland,
  • Cristina Beraldo from Italy,
  • Helène Levy Benseft from France,
  • Sérgio Cruz from Italy and
  • Ercília Orellana from Spain.

Furthermore there are invited other guest lecturers from Europe and Latin America, as well as the next relatives of Rolando Toro.

Each lecturer within his time of professional practice had worked out his own focus, an area whre he/she is 'expert'. It is an great enrichment of the training to present thees lecturers. On the other side there are always invited young lecturers of the region of cologne who are just criating their stile of lecture.

Methods

Vivencia and theory

The most important method of Biodanza is the Vivnecia, the experience of the moment. For that reason the first two years of the training consist mostly in self-awareness, the own experiencing of dancing in the group. The theoretical fundamentals are integrated within and conected with the practice.

Deepening the experience

For his own development and in order to deepen his experiences each student is required to frequent a regular Biodanza group.

Methodology

In the last training year there will take place seven methodology seminars, they contain practical important knowledges for the conduction of a Biodanza group. Here the studets learn how to realise coprrectly an exercise: the name of the exercise, the introduction, the selection of musicl, the principles of musical semantics, the way how to structuer the lesson and the dynamics of a Biodanza group. The objective of this module of the training is tecnical-methodological qualification.

Conduction of a group under supervision

In the last training year each student is required to conduct a Biodanza group for a period of 2-8 months under supervision. In this period there are 8 supervisions. Each studetnt is responsable for the organisation of the group for his own.

Social practice

The training students can choose to work with excluded or discriminated groups of persons, handicapped or elderly persons, children and so on. The social practice is a important part of the curriculum, if the student later on wants to realise a work with Biodanza in institutions.

Contents

The Curriculum of the facilitator training is composed by the following parts:

  • participation in 29 theory-practic-moduls in Biodanza, (8-10 weekends a year)
  • making a report to each wmodul
  • participation in three seminars about some fundamental themes of Biodanza (3 hours each)
  • regular participation in a weekly Biodanza group
